So in honor of going back to school-whether big or small- I’m making these lavender colored Blackberry Cupcakes.Ĭupcakes: One box vanilla cake mix plus water, oil, and eggs or ingredients for our recipe for white cake 1/3 cup blackberries purple food coloring (optional)īlackberry buttercream frosting: 1 stick butter 1/4 cup shortening 2 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp. It was one of the preschool kids’ favorites and blackberries just so happen to be my kids’ favorite fruits. One of my favorite back-to-school memories was reciting “quickberry, quackberry, make me a blackberry,” from the book Jamberry by Bruce Degen. I reminisce about the fun “first days” we had as a family and the numerous “first days” I had as a preschool teacher. Jamberry's nail wraps, which retail for 15, are thin vinyl sheets with designs on them and can last for up to two weeks on fingers and four weeks on toes.

As I look at friends’ photos of their little ones in grade school, I feel a sense of nostalgia. My middle school kids aren’t so keen about going back to school now that they’re too old for recess. There are like 2 wrinkles total across all 10 of my nails. I actually think I did these really really well. Also I figure if I screw up application and they peel off in a few days I can always paint the mess up nails black. But I sure do miss my son chatting my ear off about superhero movies and baking with my daughter in the kitchen.Īs they grow older, some of the “back to school” fun fades. I decided to use Reminisce first just because its so ridiculously pretty.

It’s nice to have some free time, and I enjoy going out to breakfast with friends on occasion. It is not based on anything scriptural. The kids are back in school this week, so I’m making this Blackberry Cupcakes recipe. Is one of personal belief, choice and feelings. Why was cains offering or plants and vegetables despicable to God? Yet God loved Abels animal sacrifices? Because it was another picture of a blood sacrifice being the only acceptable thing to cover sin. It was a picture of Christs blood sacrifice for us.

Let me ask, why did God replace Adam and Eve's clothing of fig leaves with animal skins? Because their sin required a blood sacrifice. But that's not to say they don't go to heaven) there is nothing biblically wrong with the slaughtering of animals. They are unable to witness and they have no eternal soul. (Meaning they are not made for the purpose of adding to Gods kingdom. Animals ultimately have no Kingdom purpose.

Those animals that are to be used for work, our pleasure and those not allowed to be eaten as it is deemed "unclean" should be well loved and cared for. I also recall God telling Noah he could now eat meat, as after the flood do you think there would be any plant life left? So if it's unchristian to kill animals and use them for food then what was he supposed to eat? God Himself has provided some animals that we are allowed to use for food, but he also says in proverbs that a "wise man regardeth the life of his beast". But last time I checked the bible tells of animals being killed and used for sacrifice, and being used in the making of a covenant between two people or people groups. I don't know what form of Christianity you follow.
